Modernist combined furniture from the 1950s/1960s, perfectly in the style of creations by Jacques Hitier or René Charroy for Mobilor. This iconic piece of post-war Reconstruction design is appealing due to its architectural lines, functionality, and superb warm patina. Originally designed as a wardrobe optimised for boarding school, guesthouse, or workers' hostel rooms, this ultra-compact "space-saving" piece combines 3 functions in 1: • Wardrobe / Hanging Space: The door opens to a clean and tidy interior. It still has its original metal key with a sculpted geometric design, as well as its clever period telescopic rail for hanging clothes. A top shelf completes this side. • Chest of Drawers: A block of 3 large drawers with original metal handles, offering generous and fluid storage space. • Bookshelf: 3 large open niches ideal for displaying decorative objects, books, or plants (usable height of 26 cm between each shelf). A raw and industrial structure: The furniture is firmly anchored on a base and side frame made of black lacquered tubular metal, an inseparable signature of industrial and school furniture from the mid-20th century. The back in raw particle board attests to its institutional manufacturing of the time. Ideal for bringing a retro-chic, schoolboy, or industrial look to a narrow entrance, a child's room, or a characterful studio. 📏 Dimensions: Height: 186 cm. Width: 103 cm. Depth: 52 cm. Height of 1st shelf: 26 cm. Height of 2nd shelf: 26 cm. In very good condition, it should be noted that this piece has a dark stain on the wardrobe door at the bottom left and slight veneer loss at the bottom sides.
