Vintage Louis Philippe style chest of drawers

This chest of drawers, I rescued from a private individual when it was destined to be abandoned… and probably to end up at the tip. It was impossible for me to let it go like that. I wanted to give it a new life because behind its white paint and small signs of wear, there was a lovely antique piece of furniture that just needed to find its place in a home. Made of solid wood, it features a beautiful white marble top veined with grey and lovely soft lines that evoke Louis-Philippe style furniture. The drawers slide directly in the wood, without metal runners, just like antique furniture. It has been repainted white throughout its history, with small cracked ceramic knobs added later, I think. I really love its bohemian, country house, and shabby chic spirit today. A small corner of the wood is damaged and can easily be repaired with a bit of wood filler and a touch-up of paint. For the rest, it is solid and in very good condition. No signature is apparent. I therefore prefer to present it as an antique Louis-Philippe style chest of drawers, but without inventing a provenance for it. Dimensions: 120 L X 52 D X 93 cm H. I particularly love furniture like this: those that have already lived, that almost disappeared, and to which we simply offer the chance to continue their story.
