Set of 2 solid teak armchairs with curved backrests and black wool upholstered seats. Designed by Henning Kjærnulf for Sorø Stolefabrik, 1960s. Pair of seating pieces designed by Henning Kjærnulf for Sorø Stolefabrik during the 1960s, reflecting the Danish exploration of ergonomics, cabinetmaking and material quality. The teak frames feature soft continuous joints, with tapered armrests flowing into the side supports according to the organic language of Scandinavian modernism. The curved backrests follow the line of the upholstered seats covered in black wool, creating a restrained yet recognisable visual balance. The construction quality reflects Kjærnulf’s approach, known for its attention to solid wood craftsmanship and carefully studied proportions. Good condition. They may show signs of age. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AG103.
