Wmf silver pocket stitch/ pocket rack

Period: ca. 1910-1914. This small dish embodies the jugendstil art nouveau style. It could be a candy box or pocket empty, but this model is often described as a spoon rest. The handle is composed of a set of geometric lines and curves; the distinctive feature of jugendstil. The back is decorated with intertwined patterns, and the border is adorned with a frieze of heart-shaped patterns. Even the base is beautifully decorated and this testifies to the quality of the item. There is no apparent manufacturer brand on this item, but having sold an identical item in the past (with hallmark) I know this part is from wmf and also where the brand should be; marks on plated wmf items often erode over time due to polishing. I took a close-up of where the brand should be and you can see traces of it (or is it just because I know it should be there?) The württemberg metalware factory (wmf) was founded in germany at the end of the 19th century and was renowned for its silver items, in particular, in the art nouveau style. Their pieces are sought after. Condition: Good general condition. The silvering has thinned in places and there are oxidation marks in some crevices. I cleaned and polished this dish to the best of my ability.
