Large Cubist Vase by Anatole Riecke, 1969. Engraved Cubist motifs, cold-enameled with natural pigment decorations. Anatole Riecke was Master Glassmaker at the Coupole in Paris. Of Russian origin, he worked in Paris and was responsible for the decoration of the Coupole from 1930 to 1937. His very fine glasswork is evident here, with a Cubist influence in the abstract motifs that contrast with the very smooth surface of the black opaline. Chic and timeless, this vase will blend equally well with antique and contemporary pieces. Signed A. Riecke and dated 1969. 1 small chip on the back corner of the vase (photo). Sold individually, but we also have the 70 cm high version. Height 50 cm. Dimensions: 10 X 10 cm.
