Italian Governess Buffet in Burr Pippy Oak with Geometric Marquetry

We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent vintage oak Burr & Pippy governess sideboard, intended for the storage of folded linens or pots, featuring geometric marquetry inlays. This piece of furniture is truly splendid, with the Burr and Pippy oak panels being solid wood slabs, visible with open grain and veining both inside and out. These solid slabs are rare due to their cost, as they are typically used in veneers of 1 to 2 mm thickness. The piece showcases very detailed geometric marquetry inlays on the side pillars and drawer fronts, giving an impression of depth and exceptional quality. The main structure is made of pine, the top is removable for ease of transport, and all compartments are fitted with functional locks and keys. The piece has been carefully cleaned, hand-waxed, and polished from top to bottom, showing normal signs of use and age-related patina. The condition is good with wear consistent with age and use, including slight discolouration.
