Small old chest / end of sofa

Charming little old chest. It was completely de-waxed and the wood regained its natural color which revealed a nice dovetail assembly at the 4 corners. A handle was added on top for decoration. It was painted a majorelle blue (like some of the existing fittings) then lightly re-sanded to match the vintage look of the wood. 4 antique brass casters replaced the original feet which were too damaged to be kept. The whole thing has been treated against parasites. The bottom of the trunk nevertheless retains the marks and holes of the woodworms. Unique and authentic piece! Nb: the trunk no longer locks.
