Gökotta Sculpture

Gökotta is a ritual that allows you to awaken your heart to the song of birds. In sweden, gökotta refers to the art of getting up at the first light of day, at the dawn of spring, to listen to the cuckoo's song and celebrate the renewal of life. This totem sculpture symbolizes in some way this art and this awareness of reconnecting with nature. The sculpture is carved from a recycled log then skewered into a 30mm, 25kg metal base. The base is worked to obtain an original and unique texture.
