Dog head bookends ~ composite resin ~ vintage from the 70s/80s ~ england

This pair of important vintage bookends with dog heads, particularly expressive, seems quite unusual (no other examples for sale) and its origin is undoubtedly artisanal and not industrial. They were made from an assembly of composite materials (probably resin and stone or marble powder) and fixed on stained wooden bases. 1970s/80s england good condition; some traces of age and minor cracks on the heads, which are free from any accident, lack or crack, even minor. The color shades are different from one head to another. The bases show some old worm marks but are very solid and have a beautiful shiny patina. Note that the direction of the lines of the wood of the bases is vertical on one of the bookends and horizontal on the other. Light beige felt under bases.
