The ait bou sbaa rug, from the ouled bou sbaa tribe, "bousbaa" which means "lion" in arabic, is a nomadic tribe living in morocco and mauritania, as well as in western sahara. They trade from senegal to marrakech. The most recently arrived tribe in the region, claims a chorfa origin. Their traditional history was important in the landscape of mauritanian tribes and their amazing, unique carpets have gained more wealth and power in recent years. Consider that you will receive a handmade product and not an industrial work made by a machine. There may be slight imperfections in shape or pattern, as this is a vintage item, but all of our carpets are restored and washed by professionals before being shipped.
