Furniture high artisan bar

Unique piece that I made entirely in a small workshop in Montreuil in the Paris region. I wanted to create a high, elegant and refined bar furniture, with original shapes. I started from a simple body with 2 doors on which I drew two pyramids. One for the tray and one for the base. I chose to plate the furniture entirely by hand with smoked eucalyptus. Firstly for its very deep color and subtle shades of warm browns. Secondly for its slight reliefs that give a mysterious texture to the furniture and soften its very angular design. I married eucalyptus with classic brass hinges that work well with dark wood. I chose to dress the background with a thick fabric to bring light inside the furniture by the play of contrast. The fabric makes it possible to discreetly accentuate the luxurious aspect of the whole. It also signifies the preciousness of the objects that will be behind these two elegant doors. This piece of furniture was a real challenge in construction. I had to learn by my own means techniques of tracing related to the art of framing that were not on the program of my apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker. This piece of furniture is not free of small defects. It is a handcrafted piece of furniture that is unique and has a history. It took about sixty hours of work without counting the research, drawing and design to bring it to life. On the whole we can say that it is "new" even if it is far from perfect.
