Authentic Murano glass bowl or pocket emptier, made in the 1950s by the prestigious Barovier & Toso manufacture. This piece adopts a free organic shape shaped by heat, blossoming into five fluid lobes reminiscent of a floral corolla or a star. The work illustrates remarkable technical mastery: a vibrant, intense ruby red heart is encased in a thick translucent glass shell. The underside of the piece is enhanced by the Venetian technique of foglia d'argento. This inclusion of a rich mesh of shattered silver leaf within the mass gives the object shimmering metallic reflections that vary with the incidence of light. The base features the pontil mark, carefully ground and polished. The condition is excellent for a piece from the 1950s, with no chips, cracks, or scratches, the glass having retained all its original brilliance.
