Pair of turned oak chairs, reminiscent of a japanese reinterpretation of the windsor model, a symbol of anglo-saxon artisanal furniture. The backrest, with fine, slightly inclined bars, is distinguished by a solid wood crosspiece with softened edges and a dark marquetry in its center, adding depth and refinement to the whole. The seat, carved directly from the block, delicately follows the shape of the body to offer optimal comfort. This piece perfectly embodies the values of the mingei movement: formal sobriety, an enhancement of wood in its purest simplicity, and exceptional craftsmanship. Edition: interior center, asahikawa, circa 1985.
