Coffee table by raymonde leduc vallauris

Coffee table by Raymonde Leduc (née Giraud, 1929–2019), a ceramist from Vallauris. The ceramic tiles feature insertions of small leaves, twigs, or plants from the Provençal scrubland into the still wet clay, followed by careful removal to leave a raised imprint (sometimes reused). Roger Capron used the same method, which is why there is often confusion between their productions (coffee tables, vases, tiles, trivets, etc.). Her pieces are made of stoneware or earthenware, often in ochre, beige, brown, or earthy tones, with a very natural and organic finish. This table dates from the 1960s/1970s. As seen in the photos, it is easily disassembled. Its lovely H-shaped base has two wooden keys. One can notice a weathered effect on the wood.
