Restored Art Deco Walnut Display Cabinet with Engraved Glass Slats - 1930s

We are delighted to present a museum-quality piece of 1930s European Art Deco design. This beautifully proportioned, two-piece display cabinet combines the architectural solidity of the era with a compact size (only 110 cm wide) that is incredibly practical for modern living spaces. Design and Master Craftsmanship. The silhouette of this piece embodies the Streamline Moderne aesthetic, featuring smooth, aerodynamic curves. However, it is the artisanal glasswork that elevates this piece into a collector's item. The rounded corners of the display cabinet are not made of a single piece of bent glass; they are constructed from multiple vertical glass slats. Furthermore, these slats, along with the sliding front doors, feature exquisite, original hand-engraved floral motifs. This is an incredibly rare and costly 1930s technique that gives the piece a spectacular, jewelry-like quality. To enhance this breathtaking glasswork, we have installed a brand new, flawless mirror pane on the back wall of the display section. This mirror perfectly reflects the engraved glass and beautifully illuminates any objects placed on the glass shelves. The woodwork is equally impressive. The cabinet is veneered in premium European walnut, arranged in a perfectly symmetrical book-matched pattern on the lower doors. Restoration and Finish. The cabinet has undergone a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our specialized workshop. All degraded historical varnishes were stripped down to the bare wood. The surface was then finished with premium hard wax oil. This modern treatment protects the wood against moisture and daily use while providing a stunning, natural satin-matte touch, completely avoiding the artificial gloss of old lacquers.
