Rare piece this old mortar is dug directly into a tree trunk. One of the most widely conveyed illustrations of african daily life is that of a woman pounding food in a wooden mortar. Heavy and bulky mortars are used to reduce cereals and tubers into flour or paste. Smaller mortar models are essential for transforming pepper into powder, but also raw peanuts or onions. Diverting this mortar from its main use, this mortar will bring a lot of character, a touch of ethnic decoration to your interior. This mortar has imperfections and an irregular appearance, cracks, crevices. Since the manufacturing is artisanal, you have the assurance of a timeless piece of history, authenticity and tradition. Approximate dimensions: height: 62 cm diameter: 36 cm depth: 32 cm pestle height: 124 cm.
