Technical sheet. * Style / Period: Art Deco, Poland, 1925-1939. * Material (exterior): Body veneered in European walnut; doors, top and tier exclusively covered in walnut burl. Structure in softwood and plywood. Protection: removable transparent tempered glass. * Material (interior): Cases and back panels veneered in mahogany. * Finish: Hand-applied shellac varnish, glossy with completely closed pores. Legs highlighted by a black half-round. * Dimensions: Total height 100.5 cm (at the top: 89.5 cm)|Width 123 cm|Depth 51 cm. Description and condition. Low sideboard (pomocnik) with three doors, representative of Polish cabinetry from the interwar period. The side posts feature rounded corners and the top is crowned with a moulded cornice. The walnut burl on the doors is arranged symmetrically in a mirror pattern. A tiered credenza is integrated at the back of the top. The structure rests on two solid block feet. The interior is divided by wooden shelves. This piece was part of a dining room set. The furniture has undergone complete carpentry and technical restoration. The structure is stable and the interior is clean. The three original locks are functional; three new brass keys have been fitted to the mechanism. The surface of the walnut burl on the top and body shows fine natural cracks due to age and the movement of the old veneer on its support – this structure was stabilised during restoration but will continue to move. The main top is protected by a removable transparent tempered glass, cut to the rounded profile of the corners. Not used since its restoration.
