Marble bedside table

Discover this restored bedside table, steeped in history and old charm. Hunted during an empty house in an old building on the côte d'azur, this unique piece combines solid wood, marble and zinc, which will bring a touch of authenticity to your room, living room or entrance. Dating from the early twentieth century, around 1900, and made of solid wood, its turned and fluted legs and marble top give it its art deco style. Can also be used as a console, this piece reveals through a clamshell door, an interior storage lined with white marble, with a circular zinc cover that lines the bottom and sides. By the way, did you know that behind this door was once hidden a chamber pot Reminiscent of a time when toilets were located outside homes. A meticulous restoration work has been carried out on this piece of furniture. Fully sanded by hand, it was cleaned beforehand, treated and painted with a chalk paint containing a special ingredient to give it a more grainy texture. Finally, an aged wax was applied to its assembly. Rather versatile, this small piece of furniture ends with a shelf, thus consolidating its structure, where various objects and magazines can easily find their places. Finally our eyes are attracted by small details, the original door knobs and feet, which have been highlighted with a golden paint. This bedside table plays a precious note that blends harmoniously with the omnipresence of marble.
