19th Ewer On Ottoman Empire Brass Basin

Very beautiful model of ewer called "ibriq" placed on its basin equipped with its soap dish, Ottoman Empire. 19th century period. Brass model has a swollen belly, a handle, The basin has its grid and its openwork soap dish with stars which receives the underside of the ibriq. During Islamic ritual ablutions before prayer, water taken from the ibrīq is poured over the hands and received in the basin. Ewer height 33cm, width with spout and handle 22cm. Basin diameter 36cm, height 11.5cm. The cover is unsoldered and does not appear to be original. Very decorative set. Very careful shipping.
