Water butter dish made of turned stoneware, featuring a speckled blue-grey glaze in a particularly artisanal stoneware. The slightly curved body is accented with fine turning lines, while the wide, overhanging lid is topped with a small bowl-shaped handle. The butter is placed in the perforated upper part, which is inverted into the container holding water. This traditional system allows the butter to be kept at room temperature while protecting it from air. The blue-grey glaze is dotted with small brown speckles and reveals the natural colour of the clay in places, particularly around the edge of the lid. These variations and irregularities contribute significantly to the artisanal character of the piece. An incised potter's mark under the base, resembling a geometric sign close to the letter π, is present but unidentified. In good vintage condition with glaze irregularities and firing marks typical of artisanal ceramics (see photos). Total height 14 cm – height without lid 9.5 cm – diameter of the container 11 cm – part intended for butter: maximum diameter 9 cm, height 8 cm. Estimated capacity: approximately 200 to 250 g of butter. Between misty blue and raw material, a resolutely contemporary artisanal stoneware.
