Iconic of French industrial design from the 1940s-1950s, René Malaval's chair is based on a pioneering approach to recycling. After the Second World War, René Malaval had the idea of using perforated steel sheets from munitions waste (used to make cartridge cases and bullet bases). He repurposed these sheets to create economical urban, garden, and terrace furniture, primarily published by the Bloc Métal company. They have been partially stripped to give them a unique patina. Note: There may be slight wobbling depending on the floor covering, which can be corrected by adding pads.
