Louis XVI style armchair with patina

Beautiful late 18th century Directoire period armchair, professionally restored and reupholstered. The armchair is made of beech wood and had been painted sea green and gilded. The period patina has been preserved and waxed, thus highlighting its colors: green, reddish brown, white, wood, and gold. The carved details are intact: scrolled armrests, fluted grooves, connecting blocks with rosettes. The seat and back upholstery have been completely redone, with quality straps and foam. The armchair has been upholstered with a 100% linen Pierre Frey fabric in faded pink, with a double-piped sea green braid reminiscent of the paint on the wood. The seat is wide, firm, and comfortable. 94.5 cm high 58 cm wide 60 cm deep 42 cm seat height 50 cm seat width 48 cm seat depth.
