Recovering this Chair, I was not sure to be able to do something, far away even! In general, I avoid this kind of furniture, too busy for my taste and especially, often nightmarish to revamp: layers of wax and dust clumped in the mouldings and corners to remove... But, I couldn't bring myself to abandon his sad fate, and this for two reasons: his seat and his back (back?) embossed leather are just beautiful and besides, everything was in a very good condition (nickel structure, and slightly damaged leather (, but really not much compared to other chairs crossed here or there.) And she's in my Studio! What to do? highlight this superb leather studded with "flowers" that had caught my attention, it was the only thing to do. And at the same time, wake up this Chair, give him PEP, deprive him of his dated, dark, sleepy side. It was the color and flashy with it... But I'm going a little fast rushing things, because before painting, there was first a careful cleaning, sanding no less careful and a dusting and oiling of leather. Leather which has proved even more beautiful after this cleanup. Embossing is a kind of emblem in the Center, surrounded by two marine animals (of Dragon scales and long tail). This is where I figured: I did well, it'll be nice. I also treated the Chair against the powder post beetle because it had the characteristic holes of an attack. I finally applied on wood, three layers of paint (A + for emissions in the inner air) purple red color, almost bordeaux (colours 'red Cahors"RAL 3004). It seems that dark red will be fashionable this fall, and the leather too! It's pretty good. I said that outdoor shots make the better the reality of the color red (the one taken in the shade is the closest: actually, the Red is still a tad darker, deeper). On the indoor shots, the color is purple, or pink, but is not actually the case. I left three small wooden turned in its raw state to not "forget" the past history of this Chair and break the symmetry of the whole, I'm not a big fan of symmetry ;) The rear of the backrest was the black point: the "lining" that covered the rear of embossed leather had been almost entirely torn. So I replaced it by a Brown leatherette (lighter than the shade of the leather, but with a texture approaching that of leather). Burlap in the underside of the seat was still clean and great condition, I have not touched. Total height: 86 cm, seat height: 44 cm, width: 41 cm, depth: about 45 cm, weight: between 4 and 5 kg. Furniture, although revamped, this marks his age-related: leather shows wear (more or less Haggard games, a small cut of 4 mm on the front of the seat, sewing of leather that has assigned 1 cm at the top of the file). Wood has scratches, marks and a few holes of powder post beetle.
