This unique table mirror made of pewter, mother-of-pearl and amboyna burl is of french origin and dates from the beginning of the 20th century. The ornamental motifs of the piece, inspired by nature, butterflies, climbing vegetation, are highlighted by the iridescence of the mother-of-pearl and highlight the contrast between the pewter and the amboyna burl, a precious wood very often used for exceptional pieces. This mirror constitutes a perfect testimony to the art nouveau movement which appeared at the end of the 19th century in reaction to the increasing industrialization which followed the second industrial revolution in europe. This mirror has been restored, and is in very good condition.
