French Bar Football Table, Table Football, Foosball C1920s

This beautiful and rare football table is definitely one for the collectors. It’s been sympathetically restored therefore preserving some of its vintage charm, but at the same time being 100% usable. To play these tables is to understand them, the pitch is flat and true and quite quick with a traditional cork ball. It has the most elegant mechanical ball release we have seen on an original football table, a simple turn of the beautiful cast iron and brass wheel, releases the balls to the ball catches on either side. The ball catches, being off centre, not only has an aesthetic quality but is practical, especially if you’re on the losing side. There are some lovely details to this table. The boxwood counters, aluminium ashtrays, and brass detailing make this table very easy on the eye. It still has its original makers mark and address, which is in the in-side of the table, and not to sound too nerdy, this is an incredibly rare detail, as most are lost from use and over-restoration. The wood is french chestnut. It certainly has a lovely patina.this is a wonderful piece, and they really are the best fun. Who said brown furniture is boring!
