First edition of the MTP cabinet by Marian Grabinski for IKEA.

First edition of the MTP cabinet by Marian Grabinski for IKEA (Sweden, 1961). Rare find! This vintage IKEA cabinet is a first edition piece from the original prototype series created in 1961, shortly before the introduction of the MTP series in the IKEA catalogue in 1962. At that time, IKEA had only one store, located in Almhult, Sweden. The MTP series was originally designed by Marian Grabinski as a wedding gift for Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA. The cabinet is in very good vintage condition, with some visible signs of use and areas of discolouration, as shown in the photos. Stamped on the back.
