Antique faux bamboo mirror from France

French ''faux bamboo'' mirror with beech wood frame. The name says it all, faux bamboo or fake bamboo. Around 1900, this way of making furniture and products was incredibly popular. Bamboo was of course an unknown product at that time that did not exist in europe. That is why furniture makers copied it. The old mirror glass of this mirror is somewhat weathered and has lines in the glass as can be seen in the photos. The internal dimensions of the mirror are 40x28.5 cm.
