Abstract designs located in the centre and a very nice gradient of brown with a speckled effect. Compote in excellent condition that will fit perfectly into a brutalist and/or Scandinavian decor. Dimensions: diameter 28cm, height 11.5cm. A brief history of the family workshop. The Serra family is an important lineage of Catalan potters spanning three generations. Antoni Serra Fiter, a master among others of Joan Miró and Llorenç Artigas, began artistic ceramics in the early 20th century. His sons Antonio, Enrique, and Josep Serra founded the pottery business in 1928. Today, Jordi Serra, a member of the third generation, is still at the helm of the "Serra" workshop in the Catalan city of Cornellà de Llobregat near Barcelona. He has managed to elevate and sustain the "Serra" pottery workshop in the international art scene by perpetuating the family know-how with various exhibitions in countries such as France, Germany, Japan, and the United States...
