Pair of wooden candlesticks – vintage IKEA – design Lizzie Velander

Charming pair of hand-painted wooden candlesticks depicting a couple in traditional Swedish costume, emblematic of Scandinavian folk design of the 1980s. This pair by Lizzie Velander was produced by IKEA at a time when the brand was calling on designers to offer decorative objects inspired by Nordic folk arts. Both decorative and functional, these colorful figures each hold two small candles (candlestick type). Their joyfully stylized silhouette brings a warm touch to a Christmas decoration, a rustic interior or a corner dedicated to naïve art. Condition: good general condition with traces of time consistent with their age.
