A set of two antique British andirons (fire dogs) featuring a beautiful patina earned through age and use. Expertly crafted from brass, they bear an embossed maker’s mark and the number "1058" on the back; they date to approximately 1880. Designed in a classic Victorian style, these andirons incorporate an urn-shaped decorative element, acanthus leaf ornamentation, and gracefully curved legs. Andirons are placed in pairs within an open fireplace to elevate firewood off the hearth, which improves airflow and ventilation while the fire is burning. These pieces are in good antique condition, showing signs of age and use—such as discoloration and blue-toned oxidation—consistent with their history. They remain perfectly functional and very sturdy; please refer to the photographs for further details. Dimensions: 19 x 22 x 36 cm each. Weight: 4.718 kg combined.
