Boy's torch in bronze on marble pen holder base

Period: ca. Late 19th century an endearing and decorative little torch. A bronze statuette of a young boy dressed in a classical-style toga lifts a candle holder. It stands on an elliptical shaped unpolished marble base which has a groove in the front to hold a pen (or could it be for a cigar?). Condition: good. The marble base has yellowed a little with age and there are signs of use in the pen groove. The statuette rotates on the base but is firmly fixed. Dimensions: 23.5 cm high, base 12 X 8 cm, 1.2 kg.
