Flamed ceramic ashtray in Vallauris style from the 1970s.

Here is a charming ashtray straight out of the 1970s, made of ceramic with a flamed glaze in shades of orange, caramel, brown, and white foam. It has a lovely organic shape reminiscent of a seashell. With these colours, this shape, and the technique of flamed glazing, one could reasonably think it comes from a workshop in Vallauris, even though it is not stamped. It seems to be an ashtray, but it could also serve as a spoon rest or an original small catch-all. It is in generally good condition, with no cracks or chips, but does have a few signs of its age: 6 small nicks on the edge, fortunately not very visible. It measures 15.5 cm in length, 10.5 cm in width, and 5 cm in maximum height.
