Created in 1925, a true icon of 20th century design, Marcel Breuer's Wassily armchair was designed for Kandinsky's apartment at the Bauhaus in Dessau, a modern architectural ensemble located in Dessau-Roßlau, Germany, and originally intended to accommodate the Bauhaus school of art, design and architecture. This armchair is known for having revolutionized the history of design through its use of steel tube and its industrialized manufacturing process. Its complex and ingenious structure is made up of strips of leather which create flat surfaces for the seat, back and armrests. Particularly fashionable, the Wassily armchair allows you to structure the space of a room while providing lightness. It fits perfectly into a mid-century modern style interior design, but also into a more rustic space. It is surely one of the most essential seats of our time. It is presented here in a brown leather version. Condition: This Wassily armchair has been completely refurbished by a professional leatherworker trained in the largest French luxury houses. It therefore has no seam defects or cracks. The leather is high quality. The seat is reinforced. The chrome is also in perfect condition.
