Ceramic vase by Marcello Fantoni, 1955, Italy

Very beautiful and important ceramic vase by marcello fantoni (1915-2011) dating from 1955. Exceptional and very rare piece with a sleek design with a harmonious mix of white, ochre and brown. Dimensions: 32cm X 22, 7. It is in very good general condition, it is slightly chipped (see photos). It is signed fantoni italy. Marcello fantoni was a florentine artist specializing in ceramics. Fantoni began working as a ceramist in 1934 and opened his factory in 1936. After the second world war, he was a great success and his works are now preserved in some of the most important museums in the world (moma nyc, brooklyn museum, bargello musem, moma tokyo & kyoto...).
