Large silver-plated planter with lion heads – Neoclassical / Empire style. Elegant oval planter in silver-plated metal, adorned with two imposing lion heads holding movable rings. It rests on four feet shaped like animal paws, enriched with leafy motifs. Its faceted body and curved lines evoke the French decorative arts of the neoclassical and Empire traditions. Its generous proportions and shiny surface give it a beautiful presence on a table, console, or sideboard. A versatile decorative piece, ideal as a cache-pot for orchids, a floral centrepiece, or a fruit bowl. It is equally striking when displayed alone. Dimensions: • Length excluding handles: 27.3 cm. • Width: 19 cm. • Height: 17 cm. The ornaments and rings slightly exceed the length of the body. Origin and period: Continental Europe, probably France. 20th century, in the neoclassical / Empire style. No manufacturer's mark. Condition: very good vintage condition, with slight signs of use and small superficial marks related to age. The polished surface naturally reflects its environment: some visible reflections in the photos are not defects in the metal.
