Beautiful and large tapestry made in france in the middle of the century, based on an original historical tapestry dating from the 16th century and kept at the cluny museum in paris. The “departure for the hunt” tapestry depicts nobles going falcon hunting. It was produced using a hand screen printing process with a silk screen, on a hanging of wool, linen, cotton and fibranne, by the ateliers d'art de rambouillet, under the direction of georges boitard. Linen 24%, wool 26%, cotton 24% and fibranne 26% burlap back. The original label is missing and was probably removed by its previous owner. In very good shape. Dimensions: 185x140cm.
