Navy coffee table

This charming piece of furniture found at flea markets has been transformed into a fascinating piece. Its dark wood gave way to a light shade after careful sanding. Showing the marks of time, it has been carefully treated and varnished to give it an extended lifespan. Dating from the middle of the last century, traces of its use are visible and give it incredible charm. Equipped with a thick wooden top from old farm boards, a large drawer with metal lock and its solid mortise tenon construction testifies to the artisanal know-how that shaped it. The drawer is the charming asset of this coffee table. On the outside, the solid wood reveals a magnificent patina, with its veins, knots and traces of time that has passed. As for the interior, it was painted in a delicate shade of pastel blue, giving this piece of furniture a marine ambiance, accentuated by an original handle in natural hemp rope. The latter is reminiscent of the stranded ropes used in the maritime world. Each finish has been carefully chosen to preserve the natural appearance of the wood while giving it a touch of coastal elegance.
