Oval mirror in blue and gold with knotted ribbon crest

Period: ca. End of 19th century, restyled. This oval mirror is an old gilded wooden mirror from the late 19th century that needed repairs, especially to the ridge formed by a knotted ribbon. The general style is neoclassical, the knotted ribbon being an emblematic symbol of the louis XVI style. The oval frame was painted in a royal blue color. The crest of the ribbon, the crossed ribbons on the frame, the beaded frieze and a streamlined edge were decorated with gold lacquer. The mirror is in perfect condition and has clearly been replaced at some point. State: Ok. The glass is perfect. The crest of the ribbon has been restored. This article has been repainted.
