Pair of antique bronze candlestick table lamps with dolphins, Maison Charles, circa 1920s, French

The composition of each candlestick lamp consists of a dolphin sitting on a concave round base. The base has a handle with foliage decoration. The heavy gilded bronze base makes this lamp solid and stable. There is new green felt underneath to protect the furniture underneath. The edge of the base features a delicate geometric pattern that repeats across the grill pan. Other concentric lines and a swirling stripe pattern complete the design. The sculptural fish in gilded bronze becomes the graduated column up to the shoulder, the drip pan and the new lamp holder, covered with a new candle tube in cream card. These lamps have been individually handcrafted, so there are minor variations in design and proportions. Each lamp contains 1 small standard screw bulb (e14) up to 40 watts. Currently they are equipped and photographed with 25 watt golf bead bulbs. These bulbs are included in the price. Each lamp is finished with a vintage clip-on cream silk candle shade. The shade is tapered and features wide pleats, complemented by crepe trim at the top and bottom. It is lined with white which enhances the brightness of the light. These antique lamps are in very good condition for their age. The frames are sound, with no damage or broken parts. The metal surfaces are in overall very good condition with the original antique patina preserved, adding character and depth. There are minor surface marks and patina in places consistent with age. The 2 vintage lampshades are in good condition, with no cuts or damage, only some superficial rubbing on the fabric and minor marks (like a few small, barely noticeable dots), all consistent with age and wear.
