Originating from northern China in the early 20th century, where local pine was crafted using mortise and tenon joinery without nails, featuring solid tops and square-section legs. In rural homes of northern China, coffee tables served multiple functions: auxiliary surface next to the kang, informal dining table, or domestic work surface. Their low height corresponded to the habit of living close to the ground. Constructed from solid pine using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, without nails. The top, made of joined longitudinal boards, rests on four square-section legs with lower stretchers that reinforce the structure. The carpentry follows the style of provincial furniture. Details.
