Here is a charming stool that also has the advantage of being able to serve as storage. Indeed, it is closed at the back, and the seat opens thanks to a hinge (along one side, ultra-strong), revealing a nice storage space for toys in a child's room, as an end table to store ongoing knitting, or in an entrance as an extra seat and to hold a small umbrella, slippers... The possible uses are numerous. Made entirely of solid wood painted in cream white for the legs and a very pale green for the lid and the interior (this is presumably not its original colour), it can be used as is, but can also easily be revamped, repainted in colours of your choice. Its shape is lovely, with simple lines, but small quality details that give it a lot of charm, particularly a nice finish on the edges. It reminds me of the so-called "Mado" kitchens from the 1950s, just before the "formica wave, " practical and aesthetic at the same time, with straight lines softened by rounded edges. It is in generally good condition, stable and solid, with no woodworm, but obviously it does not hide a few signs that testify to its 70 years: small light stains and abrasions of the paint. It measures 48 cm in height, the seat is a square of 31 cm on each side, and the legs measure 32 cm on each side.
