Antique English wardrobe, also known as a "chest on chest" as it consists of two stacked parts, made of solid oak and mahogany veneer. George III chest of drawers from the early 19th century, United Kingdom. This impressive and very large wardrobe features a cornice with a profiled edge, a selection of eight drawers, two narrow and six long, of varying sizes. All have an oak interior and partially original copper swan neck handles. The sides are also veneered in mahogany. The whole rests on typical console feet. This wardrobe is in good condition, unrestored, with signs of wear corresponding to its age, over 200 years! Not all handles are original: a smaller handle has been placed at the bottom left, the veneer has some chips and cracks on the edges, a decorative moulding is missing on the left side, and there are some superficial scratches and dents. However, the wardrobe retains its antique appearance and character. This tall chest of drawers has been polished, waxed, and buffed. Some decorative frames around the drawers have been replaced. Please refer to the photos for more details! Dimensions: 126 x 55 x 184 cm.
