Rare 6 bistro chairs by lionel joseph mathieu for multipl's. Circa 1940 Made in France. Veneer wood seats. Visible welding. Length: 40 cm Depth: 40 cm Height: 80 cm Excellent condition. The oldest versions have traces of welding that the later models do not have. Early versions of multipl's chairs had two "V" shaped back blades; It was not until 1935 that they were replaced by a wider single blade. Around 1945, the backrest surround will be made of round tube to reduce costs, while strengthening the resistance of the latter.
