Seat height: 39 cm Dimensions: H 93 L 66 D 56 cm Martin Delaporte (died in 1756) - chairmaker. He ran a furniture workshop on Rue des Filles-Dieu Saint Sauveur. Belonging to a prominent family of Parisian carpenters, Martin Delaporte was a very good chairmaker. He is credited with producing beautiful Louis XV style armchairs, well-balanced. The MDLP stamp was used by Martin Delaporte's workshop from the 1740s. His stamp can also be found on Louis XVI style chairs, but these were likely made by his nephew Martin Nicolas, who took over his workshop and stamp after his death.
