Kashkul coco de mer islamic begging bowl iran, 19th century. This begging bowl belonged to a sufi, an islamic mystic. The bowl is made from a seychelles nut also called coco de mer. The begging bowl is decorated all around with 2 boteh next to each other in which a leaf and the edges are inlaid with turquoise beads. I believe it has the original chain attached to the cup with bronze brackets.
