We are faced with a superb example of the Shogun floor lamp, a piece that has marked the history of postmodern design. Born in 1986 from the collaboration between the genius of Swiss architect Mario Botta and the prestigious Italian company Artemide, this lamp is not just a simple lighting object, but a true luminous sculpture. The true uniqueness of the Shogun lies in its innovative diffuser. It is composed of two semi-cylindrical elements made of perforated steel sheet painted white. This solution is not only aesthetic but also functional: the light, filtering through the dense grille, creates a unique and suggestive atmosphere, projecting plays of shadows and light into the surrounding environment. As can be seen in the images, this example is in excellent condition, a noteworthy detail for a piece nearly forty years old. The paint is well preserved and, more importantly, the diffusers are doubly adjustable. With a simple gesture, they can be rotated and overlapped, allowing the light beam to be directed and continuously modifying the appearance of the lamp itself, making it a dynamic and interactive object.
