Set of 8 Cantilever chairs "S33" - Mart Stam, Bauhaus

Exceptional set of 8 S33 chairs, designed by Mart Stam, a major figure of the modernist movement and a pioneer of the cantilever principle. Produced with a tubular structure in chrome-plated steel, these iconic pieces rest on a suspended line without rear legs, a radical signature of Bauhaus design. The seat and backrest are made of black leather, here in a version with black stitching that is particularly understated and elegant. This set is distinguished by: – a numbered edition (marking visible on the leather). – a hook maintaining the proper tension of the leather on the backrest (see photo). – a remarkable uniformity of patinas. – an excellent overall condition, both of the leather and the chrome structures. – a strong graphic presence, ideal around an architectural table or in a more minimalist environment. The comfort is soft and dynamic, typical of cantilever models, offering a slight flex in the seat.
