Description
A round pique-fleurs or flower arranging vase with holes cut out by jean gerbino (1876-1966), vallauris, france. The "gerbino process" a very labor intensive process based on tang dynasty nériage or nerikomi technique mixed with mosaïc took 15 years to develop. When it was done his creations won him the grand prix de paris in 1931. Condition report: Excellent condition. Documentation: L'age d'or de vallauris, p84-85.
