Brutalist tripod coffee table attributed to Audoux & Minnet (1950s)

Magnificent vintage coffee table from the 1950s. A piece with an organic and brutalist design, fully attributed to the famous creators Audoux and Minnet (typical production from Golfe-Juan, not signed with its original "chat noir" badge, but with undeniable style and craftsmanship). The circular top is made of a superb thick weaving of water hyacinth, offering a textured and warm spiral pattern. It rests on a unique tripod base made from dark wood barrel staves, mounted on a solid wrought iron structure. The contrast between the raw clarity of the natural fibre and the dark character of the patinated wood is absolutely perfect. A decorative, authentic, and warm centrepiece, ideal for enhancing a bohemian, kinfolk, modernist, or contemporary interior. This authentic vintage piece is in very good condition. The fibres of the top are sound, and the iron structure is perfectly stable. It has retained its original patina. Height: 35 cm Width: 62 cm Depth: 62 cm.
