Add a bold and distinctly graphic collectible piece to your interior with this magnificent vintage earthenware jug vase. It was made in the early 1950s in the famous workshops of Robert Boistot, located in Salins-les-Bains in the Jura. This model, shaped like a pitcher or jug, stands out with its stout base and strong visual identity, perfectly resonating with the post-war modernist and cubist artistic movements: A superb two-tone textured glaze: A base of deep emerald/spruce green, nuanced by a speckled white effect reminiscent of foam. An abstract geometric pattern: Contrasting dots hand-painted in mustard yellow, bright red, and orange, outlined with a black border. The word "Salins" is proudly hand-painted on the front in a stylised original typography. The underside of the base has retained its completely intact original paper label, beautifully emblazoned, indicating: "Faïences d'Art - Robert Boistot - Salins-les-Bains (Jura)". In excellent condition. The glaze retains a remarkable shine and the colours are vibrant. No chips, cracks, or restorations. The interior is clean. Decor idea: With its sculptural pyramid silhouette and very graphic full handle, this jug vase stands on its own. It will be ideal on a shelf or Scandinavian sideboard, amidst a collection of 1950s French ceramics (such as Vallauris or Accolay). Height: 16.5 cm. Width of the neck (diameter of the opening): 6 cm. Width of the base (diameter of the underside): 12 cm.
